Instagram Tests Out Screenshot Alerts On Stories and Users Aren’t Happy
As if the new update for Snapchat isn’t mind boggling and aesthetically unpleasing to use, now we might need to face another harsh reality that the end of our Instagram stalking days might soon come to an end.
According to TechCrunch, few users who have been selected to try out this latest Instagram feature will receive a warning notification after they’ve screenshot a story, reminding them that the next time they do it again, the creator of the story would be aware of their attempt.
Good bye freedom to screenshot IG stories. 💔 Thank you, Instagram for the warning. pic.twitter.com/y0pEaVR0Jq

Again, this is only a test to see the engagement and the activity of the users should this feature be implemented. Similar to Snapchat, users were able to identify whoever screenshots their story through their list of story viewers. No notification will beep out on your screen, and it will only be seen through that list.

Those selected users shared their experience and thoughts on Twitter, and majority of them aren’t too pleased with this trial feature.

Instagram’s screenshot alerts for Stories are now live.

Instagram also shared a statement to TechCrunch saying:
“We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you.”
Stalking and shading someone just seems a whole lot difficult and less fun if this feature were to ever be implemented, because let’s face it, all of us love some good tea. Tell us what you think of this feature in the comments section.
