KL’s nightlife just got a new addition, and it’s aiming straight for the dance floor.
YKŌ has opened at Level 3, Block E, The Five in Damansara Heights, taking over as the area’s largest club with space for around 700 people.
The venue comes from the same team behind KYŌ Kuala Lumpur, but it’s not just a copy-paste of what already worked. YKŌ leans harder into a music-led setup, ditching the usual overemphasis on tables in favour of a layout that actually encourages people to stand, move, and stay on the floor.

Before opening, they rolled out two preview events to introduce the space.
The first, on 4 April at The Five, Block D, was more low-key, a test run of the crowd and sound. The second, on 11 April at Royal Selangor Club, went bigger, with a hot air balloon installation that made it clear they weren’t easing into this quietly.

For opening night, they brought in Nora En Pure, setting the tone for what they want YKŌ to be: a space that regularly pulls in international acts while still giving room to local and regional DJs.
Design-wise, the space keeps things industrial without feeling overdesigned.
There’s a reworked version of KYŌ’s tunnel feature that leads into the main floor, plus a Void Acoustics sound system that does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the actual experience. It’s built around one main idea: people are there for the music, so make it sound right and give them room.
Programming isn’t locked into one genre. Different nights move between older crowd favourites and newer club tracks, depending on who’s playing. It’s flexible, but still centred on keeping the energy consistent.
YKŌ runs Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with Thursdays marked as Ladies Night. For bookings or enquiries, they’re reachable at +6012 921 1437.
