Looking to experience a stellar lineup of local talent next month? Look no further than the IGNITE Charity Showcase, a community-driven concert focused on empowering and connecting today’s youth.

Since 2022, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mikhalai (PKM), along with a dedicated group of volunteers, has organised an annual fundraising event to address the profound impact of financial challenges. Their goal is to ensure sustainable income generation for vulnerable children and youth in the community.

This year, the fundraising objective is to cover the operational expenses of 2024 and support the relocation of the Mikhalai School of Destiny (MSOD).

Under the auspices of PKM, a non-governmental organisation, MSOD aims to uplift underprivileged, homeless, abused, and undernourished children, primarily from broken and dysfunctional families.

The school provides them with a home, daily meals, medical care, and a foundational education.

Moved by the plight of these children, Ms Mikhalai Steve envisioned a school that could cater to their pressing and diverse needs. Thus, MSOD was founded in 2015 with four students.

Today, it serves 50 students, with an additional 30 expected in 2024 based on inquiries and recommendations.

The event aims to raise RM100,000 to support the school’s operational costs for 2024. Tickets for the Charity Showcase are priced at RM80.
