We’re counting down the days until the Heineken Thirst x JUICE Pre Party Series launches in Ipoh at Sensation of Sound on Saturday 16 November. As a little bonus for all of you we’ve got a couple of remixes specially commissioned by Heineken to get you started for the parties in Ipoh, Penang, and Johor Bahru.

To make it interesting we thought we’d ask DANGERDISKO and +2dB to remix each other’s tracks. Not to see who’s better. Just for fun. Stream them here or grab a taste of Heineken Thirst to-go by downloading them from the links below.

First up is DANGERDISKO’s remod of +2dB’s ‘Stay Calm’. There’s more than a hint of the movie Drive in the skeletal beats of the track, not surprisingly titled the ‘Miami 1985 Remix’, with the vocals chopped into a sea of icy calm. According to DANGERDISKO’s Farez Khan: “We wanted to pay homage to the original and scale it back further, deep and darker, but the remix ended up sounding quite tropical, which is why we named it DANGERDISKO’s ‘Miami 1985 Remix’.”

+2dB’s Jo Ann told us that picking DANGERDISKO’s remix of the Melissa Indot track Wonderland was a real no-brainer for them. When they heard it drop in a club they were instantly taken by its ‘catchy, sexy, amazing lyrics and beautiful progression’. The remix came together pretty organically, the duo not really discussing where it was going and just experimenting around the original. Their stripped down version slows the tempo and swing of DANGERDISKO’s nu-disco and replaces it with a slinky laidback after hours groove.
