Mom’s Displeasure Over Son’s Haircut Leads Entire Salon Team To Go Bald In Remorse

A mother recently vented on social media after her child came home with a haircut she described as looking like it had been “bitten by a dog”.

Her post spread quickly and drew a lot of attention online. The incident took place at a hair salon in Kulai, Johor.

Once the post went viral, the salon owner contacted the mother to apologise. After they spoke, the original post was taken down. Even so, the salon accepted responsibility for the issue.

The owner, Cheong Kok Fai, and three members of his management team shaved their heads to show that they were genuinely sorry. Photos of the four of them with freshly shaven heads circulated online and sparked another wave of discussion:

Cheong told Sin Chew Daily during a charity haircut event that this was the first time he had gone bald in more than 40 years.

He said his daughter disliked the look and even his elderly father called to check on him because he was worried about the backlash.

When asked if the act was just a publicity stunt, Cheong rejected the idea. He explained that one manager even had to attend a wedding completely bald and another will be getting married at the end of the month. Cheong said no one shaves their head for fun and that it took courage for all of them to do it.

He added that if a trainee makes a mistake, the mentor carries responsibility too. The head shaving was meant to show the child and the public that they truly regret what happened.

Cheong had already apologised in the comments under the original post but said he was not given a chance to explain or fix the mistake at the time. That led them to issue a public apology.

The salon has since introduced a new policy at its Kulai outlet. Until 30 November, customers who are not satisfied with their haircut will not be charged. This is part of the salon’s effort to improve its service and take responsibility for future cases!
