World-renowned DJ and producer Armin van Buuren is set to perform at KL Live on Friday 15 December and tickets are selling out fast!
If you guys haven’t heard of him yet, you should! But trance loyalists would know, the Dutch-born DJ has held his number one spot in the critically acclaimed DJ Mag Top 100 DJs for five times now, and on top of that, he has been nominated for a Grammy. His continuous strive and undoubtedly strong passion for his music were the root to his success; along with his thousands of loyal fans. But before he became one of the world’s most popular DJs, he was just a boy with a love for dance music, with a Masters degree in Law to boot (which he thought would be a good backup plan in case he wasn’t able to achieve his dreams).
Throughout the years, he’s developed computing skills that came in very handy when he started off by producing mixtapes for his friends, and later produced high-end mixes which he used as part of his experimentation with the sequences and sounds he was striving for; thus creating his addiction to music. When it comes to his influences, he looks up to Jean-Michael Jarre as his major influence, and Dutch producer Ben Liebrand, who later on became his mentor.
“I see it as my responsibility to promote trance as a genre, and I want to support it in every way I can. Music should connect us. As long as the music keeps evolving like it is, I will continue and I don’t see any reason to slow down,” he is quoted in his official press profile.
His return to KL this weekend is a part of the trance meister’s 2017 global tour, which had stops in the States, United Kingdom, India, and more. Opening the show are Malaysia’s own trance acolytes, MisterAriffin and Lissa Qash.
