Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Ready To Abide By YDP Agong’s Advice On Establishing Unity Government

Through a press statement, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah has officially declared its readiness to abide by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s directives concerning the formation of a governing coalition, and that the establishment should take place as soon as possible.

“GRS is of the opinion that the formation of a unity government should be inclusive and involve the Government of Sabah and Sarawak, as is mandated by the people.”

Earlier, Jeffrey Kitingan, the vice chairman of the GRS, expressed his backing for PH-led unity government formation.

He was quoted as saying that in order for this administration to be successful and fully inclusive, Sabah and Sarawak’s elected leaders must be included.

“The parties and politicians on the peninsula are destroying Malaysia. It’s time for the Borneo states to take charge and bring stability to the country,” he continued.

Barisan Nasional also confirmed yesterday that it would participate in a unity government that is not headed by Perikatan Nasional.
