Fyre Festival 2 Will Be ‘Better Than Fyre 1’ With Tickets up to RM4.8 Million

You might know Billy McFarland for the absolute disaster that was Fyre Festival, which took place in the Bahamas in 2017. There’s a whole Netflix documentary about it if you need an entertaining and infuriating refresher.
Well, the serial fraudster and Seth MacFarlane look-a-like is back at it again with a proposed (and promised) ‘Fyre Festival 2’, scheduled to take place on Isla Mujeres, an island in Mexico, from 30 May to 2 June 2025.
But here’s the kicker: Isla Mujeres officials say that “no person or company has requested permits” for the event. The first red flag, considering its supposed to be happening in two months.

In a video posted on his personal Instagram account in October last year, McFarland shares updates about the festival, saying his team is already on the island, and that Fyre Festival 2 will be “better than Fyre 1”.
That statement would sound more encouraging if the first edition of the Fyre Festival was actually good. Instead, festival goers, who paid upwards of US$12,000 (~RM53,000) for their tickets, got disaster relief tents and the world’s saddest cheese sandwiches:

If there’s one way to describe it, we’ll borrow a line from HBO’s Succession: Fyre Festival was a “s**t show at the f**k factory.”
Is Fyre Festival 2 a legitimate comeback or another delusional, fantasist attempt at a luxury festival?
It seems that Fyre Festival 2 is actually “happening”, so to speak, with a more recent confirmation coming from the official Fyre Festival Instagram stating boldly and in all-caps, “FYRE FESTIVAL 2 IS REAL”.
McFarland and his team are adamant about Fyre Festival 2 actually happening, despite Isla Mujeres publicly stating that, in their eyes, no such festival is taking place there at all. So who are we supposed to believe? A convicted fraudster or actual government officials from the purported host island?
Just basing our judgement on logic alone, we don’t believe Fyre Festival 2 can even take off at this point, especially if what Isla Mujeres officials are saying is true. There’s no way to get all the proper permits sorted out in such a short amount of time. Events of this scale usually take at least a year or two to prepare, with an insane amount of coordination needed between logistics companies, hotels, and more.
Even some “partner hotels” have stated they’re not part of the festival, prompting McFarland to announce “cancelled contracts” with them.
But hey, maybe McFarland can pull off a miracle. Maybe. We doubt it, though.
Ticket information for the curious (please, don’t actually spend your money)
Let’s just say, hypothetically, that McFarland is sincere about it. What next? Well, you’re gonna have to choose your ticket package, which determines what you can and can’t do at the festival.
IGNITE: US$1,400 (~RM6,199)

The ‘IGNITE’ package allows general access and costs US$1,400 (~RM6,199) per person. With this pass, you’ll get access to the festival grounds and the Water Stage, plus optional “Fyre Experiences” that can be purchased as add-ons. Accommodation is, unsurprisingly, not included.
FUEGO: US$5,000 (~RM22,142)

Okay, now we’re moving up a notch (that’s literally how the website’s ticket page makes you scroll—upwards). The ‘FUEGO’ package gives you VIP access to the festival grounds, as well as front row viewing of the Water Stage and “close” viewing of the Fight Pit.
This package will cost you a breezy US$5,000 (~RM22,142) per person. Like ‘IGNITE’, ‘FUEGO’ offers add-on Fyre Experiences and does not include accommodation.
PHOENIX: US$25,000 (~RM110,712)

So, you’ve got money? Maybe the ‘PHOENIX’ pass is right for you. At US$25,000 (~RM110,712) for two people, it gives you artist access to the festival grounds, backstage access to the Water Stage, pitside access to the Fight Pit, several curated Fyre Experiences, as well as a concierge and on-ground transport to and from the airport.
Oh, and you’ll also get to stay at the same hotel as the artists and other performing talent. Not bad, but is it worth that much money?
PROMETHEUS: 🤑🤑🤑US$1.1 million🤑🤑🤑 (~RM4.8 million)

If money is just paper to you and a flight from New York to Paris is simply a “quick lunch trip”, then you obviously need the PROMETHEUS pass. At this price point, what does “expensive” even mean? For all you know, money just grows on trees in your football field-sized backyard.
At US$1.1 million (~RM4.8 million) for eight people, PROMETHEUS is for people who want everything the festival has to offer. Plus, you’ll have the option of a 4-stateroom yacht or a luxurious 4-bedroom villa as your accommodation.
Time will tell

Will festival goers see the return of disaster relief tents and the delectable Fyre Cheese Sandwich, or will they actually get to revel in excess and luxury? Only time can tell.
