Take Our Money: Hiroshi Fujiwara Teases FRGMT X Gundam Collab
The Godfather of Streetwear himself, Hiroshi Fujiwara, recently teased an RX-78 Gunpla model on his Instagram, all greyed out and sporting fragment design decal—alluding to an upcoming collaboration with Gundam.
A closer look
On closer inspection of the Gunpla model, we can clearly see fragment design’s signature lightning bolt motif on the left chest area. But if that isn’t enough indication of a fragment design and Gundam collab, the left shoulder features prominently features a product code that reads “RX78FRGMT”.
From observations alone, we can safely assume this makes a reference to the Gunpla model type, as well as fragment design’s stylised ‘FRGMT’ moniker.
According to Hypebeast, the FRGMT x Gundam collaboration will also include other items beyond the RX-78 model. This includes apparel and accessories. As to what they are specifically, we don’t know yet.
However, it’s predicted that we’ll be able to see this collab in person at the “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -FINAL-” events taking place in Tokyo (February) and Osaka (April).
Perhaps we’ll even see the collab featured at Expo 2025, taking place in Osaka from 13 April to 13 October this year.
