LA indie pop outfit Foster The People, famed for their infectious hit single ‘Pumped Up Kicks‘, are set to tear up Malaysian turf at the KL Convention Centre on 13 January 2012. Whoppee!

Foster The People, aka Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, guitar, programming, percussion), Mark Pontius (drums and extra percussion), and Cubbie Fink (bass and backing vocals) shot to fame almost accidentally this year with their song ‘Pumped Up Kicks’. From small beginnings posting the track to a few friends, it’s now reached tens of millions of hits on YouTube and has held consecutive placement in music charts, DJs’ sets, and hipsters’ playlists the world over.

So what better way to kickstart your new year than by getting down with one of the hottest bands of 2k11? Playing hit songs like ‘Helena Beat’ and ‘Call It What You Want’ off their debut album Torches, we’re anticipating that after this show, the 2012 standard for international acts visiting Malaysia is going to be set pretty high.
