‘Formula 1: Drive To Survive’ S7 Trailer: More Twists & Turns Than a Soap Opera

The 2024 Formula 1 season felt more like an IRL soap opera than a sporting event, though it did feature the latter in spades.
With fierce rivalries, groundbreaking achievements, and emotional farewells, Season 7 of Formula 1: Drive To Survive, premiering on 7 March, promises to highlight the best and worst moments of the 2024 season.
Fierce rivalries, groundbreaking achievements, and emotional farewells

If, like this writer, you kept up with the 2024 F1 season, you’ll know it was packed with thrilling races, some on-and-off-track drama, and historic milestones that had people on the edge of their seats from start to finish. If you’re out of the loop, here’s a quick refresher.
Dutch driver Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won his fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship, to absolutely no one’s surprise—whether that’s a good or bad thing really depends on who you’re asking. But 2024’s competition was rather stiff, with McLaren making a superhero resurgence, clinching their first Constructors’ Championship in 26 years.

Monégasque driver Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) finally broke his ‘Monaco Curse’ by winning his home Grand Prix for the first time. This victory was monumental, making him the first Monégasque driver to win in Monaco since Louis Chiron in 1931.
But perhaps the more shocking Ferrari-related news comes from former Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who announced a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season. The Brit won seven consecutive Drivers’ Championships, equalling the legendary Michael Schumacher, cementing him as one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. We can’t wait to see how he fares with the Scuderia.

But of course, in order to make room for Hamilton, someone at Ferrari had to leave—and it was sadly Carlos Sainz Jr., who put on a brave face despite his circumstances. He did, however, manage to leave his mark at Ferrari, and he’ll surely be missed. The Spanish driver will be racing for Atlassian Williams Racing in 2025.

Oh, and if you’ve watched previous seasons of DTS, you’ll be more than happy (or sad?) to know there will be more passionate expressions of frustration by Mercedes team boss, Toto Wolff:

If you’re an F1 fan, you know the rest. If this is your first time watching, we won’t spoil it for you. Formula 1: Drive To Survive Season 7 premieres on 7 March 2025.
