According to Harian Metro, the police are investigating a street fight that happened at a durian stall in Bangi. The clip of the incident which occurred near the Al-Amin Surau had been making rounds on social media since last Saturday.
The durian stall owned by a 53-year-old man suffered damages after it was hit with a car on 20 June. The instigator alongside four other men then beat up the hawker and threw durians at him.
Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said a report had been lodged by the victim who said that he knew one of the men as ‘Joe’.
The police chief added that initial investigations found that the men were fighting over the business sites where they usually set up their stalls.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Selangor police confirmed the incident, stating that, “The police are investigating and action will be taken based on the laws that are available… The public is advised to not speculate, which could lead to misunderstanding among the people. This, in turn, could affect investigations.”
