It was an election that saw all Malaysians getting together under a common goal. GE14 has been hailed as the beginning of a new Malaysia, and with that newly found sense of hope, many were expecting Malaysians abroad to start coming back soon… but not this soon!

Recently, social media was taken aback by the resignation letter of a Malaysian dude named Nick who was working in Singapore. What made his letter special was the amount of sincerity he put in.

He wrote: “The reason of my resignation is that my beloved country Malaysia had just UBAH (changed). I believe there is much opportunity for me to go back to my country to serve the people there. Even if I am just going to sell chicken rice, I can still pay tax to the new government.”

Now that’s shows commitment (and culinary skills).

As everyone knows, a Malaysian working in Singapore can earn up to 3 times of what they get in Malaysia after conversion (living expenses, different story la), so it definitely wasn’t an easy decision for Nick no matter who won GE14.

We wish Nick all the best in his future career back home, and if that doesn’t work out, then we’ll queue up for his chicken rice with the jalur gemilang in hand.

And if you thought that was a good resignation letter, check this out…
