With just over a week to go until the Converse Jamboree 2011, Converse invited members of the press along to their Pavilion store for a special initiation to the second annual two day music and arts festival. Along with some of the carefully chosen celebrity ambassadors whose role it will be to facilitate the camp’s activities, JUICE was lucky enough to be invited to get in amongst the action.

Performing first were folk duo the Halfway Kings. Halfway Kings, consisting of vocalist Adeline Chua and guitarist Joachim Sebastian, are just two of the 25 creatives chosen to embody the role as ambassadors. Fresh from celebrating their band’s two year anniversary, the Halfway Kings have recently accumulated much buzz on the local scene for their polished and endearing musical creations. They treated attendees of the launch to a live rendition of three of their tracks, and by doing so showcased the stellar standard of the talent that has been set for Converse ambassadors. Also present were other celebrity ambassadors, actor Bront Palarae, general manager of Laguna Music Jeremy Little, photographer Ili Farhana and artist Donald Abraham.

Following the performance, members of the Converse team shared with us insight on the brand’s goals and achievements, and how these instigated their decision to give something back to their loyal customers in the form of the Converse Jamboree 2011. Below is a video that was screened at the event, which features some of these inspiring achievers.

The press launch of the Converse Jamboree 2011 took place at Pavilion, the Converse Jamboree 2011 will be held from the 17 – 18 December, find out more here.
