Christmas 2023: Top 5 Boardgames to Play At Your Upcoming Christmas Party

Thirsty for JUICE content? Quench your cravings on our Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp

After the annual Christmas feast, most of us are content with relaxing with our loved ones and enjoying the rest of the holiday together.

But if you’re looking to liven things up this holiday season, here are five board games that can add brevity to your Christmas festivities.

Wavelength

Word association and guessing games are always fun for on-the-fly gaming sessions, and Wavelength is perfect for friends and family of all ages.

Players split into teams and describe how close their teammates guess the word in question in a sort of hot-and-cold style of measurement, which allows for all sorts of abstract fun.

Team3

A much more involved game as it has players split into groups of three, the goal of Team3 is to recreate specific shapes using plastic blocks.

The catch is that one teammate can’t speak, one can’t see, and one player must relay this info between the other players using only gestures. Things get chaotic really quickly in this game.

I Have The Numbers

We recently covered this Malaysian card game, and we definitely would recommend it for those who want to play a funny game with older members of their family.

Featuring satirical parodies of real-life politicians, the goal of this game is for players to get enough politicians on their side to win a typical Malaysian election.

Betrayal at House on the Hill

Normally a horror game wouldn’t be appropriate for Christmas, but we’d argue that Betrayal at House on the Hill belongs on the Scooby-Doo scale of frights.

Either way, the game has players explore a haunted house before one player inevitably gets possessed and becomes the villain for the rest of the game. Shenanigans ensue.

Ghost Blitz

A deceptively simple game where the objective is to pick out one of five objects based on a picture card that is drawn from a pile.

Players must then be quick to pick out the object, though the clue on the cards can be quite hard to decipher in the heat of the moment. You’ll be surprised how quick younger players can pick up this game.

Merry Christmas from us at JUICE!
