Are you sure? Because if you don’t have a piece from Carhartt WIP’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, you’re not entirely dripped out and should cop some pieces ASAP.
Carhartt WIP’s latest release sees the renowned streetwear giants teaming up with mastermind JAPAN, resulting in an 8-piece capsule collection which includes their:
- OG Active Jacket
- Bib Overall
- MMJ Coach Jacket
- Double Jogger Knee Pants
- Hooded sweatshirt
- Loose pocket t-shirt (long & short sleeves)
- Pile-fleece neckwarmer
Carhartt WIP’s iconic style shines through pieces such as their OG Active Jacket and Bib Overall which feature an all-black palette with silver accents and hardware, as well as the brand’s signature skull motif.
This branding will appear as a reflective print on the MMJ Coach Jacket. Additionally, silver embroidery will be featured on items such as their Double Knee Jogger Pant – a jersey-inspired take on classic work pants.
Also included in this capsule are a hooded sweatshirt loose pocket t-shirts, in both short and long sleeves, and a pile-fleece neck warmer to round out the collection.
You’ll notice that these pieces all draw from the same consistent aesthetic, and feature co-branded labelling throughout – if you’re fast enough to get your hands on them!
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the two brands have collaborated as the relationship between Carhartt WIP and mastermind JAPAN traces back to 2018.
To date, Carharrt WIP remains close with mastermind JAPAN’s founder, Masaaki Homma who founded the label back in 1997.
Mastermind JAPAN has garnered a huge cult following through Homma’s use of skull motifs paired with his focus on Japanese craftsmanship, creating a brand that effortlessly blends elements of street and sportswear with considerable elegance.
