Bunuhdiri Unveil Heavy New Single Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Malaysian brutal death metal outfit Bunuhdiri is set to release its latest full-length album, Neuromechanical Shrine, via BrutalMind Records later this year.

As a preview of the upcoming record, the band will release its second single and title track, ‘Neuromechanical Shrine’, on 17 June through BrutalMind’s official YouTube channel.

The single follows the release of ‘Subjugation Earth’, which debuted as a lyric video on January 12, 2026 and offered listeners their first glimpse into the album’s sonic and conceptual direction. With ‘Neuromechanical Shrine’, Bunuhdiri presents what they describe as the definitive representation of the album’s overarching vision while further cementing their aggressive, dark, and futuristic brand of brutal death metal.

Serving as a continuation of the narrative introduced in the band’s previous EP of the same name, Neuromechanical Shrine expands upon a story centred around an alien domination of Earth.

This time, however, the scale is significantly larger. Humanity begins mounting resistance against the invasion while the alien forces establish a new belief system designed to manipulate and control the masses.

“Behind the science-fiction concept, the upcoming Bunuhdiri album serves as a sharp metaphor for modern reality,” explains vocalist Wira. “It explores propaganda, power structures, ideological warfare, systematic manipulation, and humanity’s gradual loss of awareness regarding who is truly controlling them.”

Musically, Bunuhdiri draws inspiration from some of extreme metal’s most uncompromising acts, including Putridity, Rings of Saturn, Suffocation, Beneath the Massacre, Cytotoxin, and Gorgasm. These influences are evident throughout the album’s intricate riff structures, relentless intensity, and destructive atmosphere.

The recording process was completed independently in the band’s own studio. Mixing and mastering duties were handled by Malik Sampurna of Hiatus Records, while the accompanying visual content was produced by BSA Graphics.

The album’s visual presentation further reflects Bunuhdiri’s ambitious scope.

Artwork for Neuromechanical Shrine was created by renowned Japanese illustrator Toshihiro Egawa, a legendary figure in the world of extreme metal known for his highly detailed and visually unsettling artwork.

Following the release of the second single, Bunuhdiri plans to unveil the full album later this year and bring Neuromechanical Shrine to international audiences through a series of overseas performances currently in development.

“Things are still in the planning stages,” Wira says. “However, we’ll most likely begin our journey in Southeast Asia first, with countries such as Thailand and Vietnam being among the initial destinations.”

For a band whose name literally translates to “suicide”, Bunuhdiri’s trajectory appears anything but self-destructive.

With an increasingly ambitious conceptual framework, international touring aspirations, and a collaboration with one of extreme metal’s most respected visual artists, Neuromechanical Shrine signals a significant step forward for the Malaysian group, with an album poised to push Bunuhdiri beyond regional recognition and further into the global extreme metal conversation.
