Brave Pregnant Dog Saves Lives Of 4 Patients From Hospice Fire, Suffers Severe Burns On Face

Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they have four legs and a tail.

Recently, a pregnant dog by the name of Matilda had performed the most heroic act ever by a pooch, by saving the lives of four patients from a fire at a hospice in the Leningrad region of Russia.

Just like in the movies, Matilda raised the alarm by running into the building and barking at the owner. Soon after, Matilda passed out from the carbon monoxide.

Luckily, she was rescued by volunteers Elena Kalinina and Alexander Tsinkevich.

Her actions saved the four residents in the hospice.

However, Matilda had suffered severe burns on her face, neck and abdomen from the fire and was sent to the Vasilek shelter in St Petersburg where she could be treated. It’s a miracle for Matilda too as her puppies are still alive and well, when her body was checked by a fertility specialist.

While Matilda recovers from her injuries, we hope that she will get rewarded with a medal of honour soon for her courageous act.
