BN Has Consented To Joining A Unity Government That Is Not Headed By Perikatan Nasional
According to Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan, Barisan Nasional has agreed to participate in a governing coalition that is not led by Perikatan Nasional.
He also claims that Ahmad Zahid was backed by the Umno Supreme Council in his bid to lead the party as well as to chair BN.
The above was confirmed via a press statement.
As per earlier reports, a 10-point agreement between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional to create a unity government may have been reached.
This includes, per the sources who spoke to NST, keeping Parliament in session for its full five-year term and appointing a Harapan leader for the position of prime minister.
