Pandemic or not, IKEA is going strong in Singapore!
Back in April, photos of the massive queue of locals trying to get in the store before the circuit breaker (S’pore’s MCO) was implement, went viral on social media. Fast-forward a few months, today, The Straits Time reported that the Swedish giant will be opening a third outlet next year in Jurong town. Thus, they need 200 new employees!
While the company itself posted up 34 new job listings on its website, what is more interesting are the IKEA job vacancies on Singapore’s government website, MyCareersFuture, which lists an opening for a Commercial Manager with a jaw-dropping monthly salary up to RM21,000.
You might think that’s crazy but the salary offered for a Selling Manager role, on the other hand, can go up to RM43,000 monthly! Suddenly, thinking about the minimum wage here in Malaysia…
On the listing, IKEA did not mention which outlet the Selling Manager role is for but here are the qualifications you will need to have before applying:
Think you’re up for it? Better hurry because there is bound to be tough competition with over 143 applications already submitted. The deadline for application is by 25 October 2020.
