Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri is no stranger to controversy, and the businessman has once again received criticism from netizens who believe that his latest ad is outrageous and degrading.

In a video uploaded by Terlajak Laris‘s TikTok profile, the entrepreneur is seen ‘masturbating’ vigorously under the blanket with his wife Datin Shahida laying beside him on a bed. She takes notice and peels the blanket off him, only to reveal that he’s actually strumming at what appears to be a ukulele.

Netizens criticised the clip as it was actually an advertisement intended to promote the women’s hijab, noting that the  ‘marketing’ scheme employed by the entrepreneur was extremely inappropriate. His daughter, Qadejah El Zahra, is also seen clad in a hijab towards the end of the video.

Among other assertions, netizens also expressed disappointment towards Aliff Syukri for “shamelessly utilising cheap tactics” to garner attention and clout for his products.

In addition to being dismissed by netizens, the entrepreneur’s mother, Rozita Ibrahim, also expressed her shock and distaste towards the ad, labelling it as ‘stupid’ for its lack of humility.

Earlier, the businessman himself said that he had repented from publishing anger-invoking, cheap content, admitting that he felt the need to be more mature for the sake of his growing children, in attempt not to embarrass or disappoint them.

“I have to acknowledge that I will get old. I’m turning 40 soon, and my hair has turned grey. I don’t want to behave this way anymore and let people say that my kids’ parents are not self aware,” he said early last year.

He also told Malay News in January that he no longer enjoys being in front of the camera, saying that it’s easy to stir controversy as he has many followers.

“Now I want to be more mature. I don’t need this anymore. What I’m looking for now is peace,” he said.

Just last week, Aliff Syukri wept with joy when he was awarded an appreciation plaque as he was able to significantly reduce the community’s burden through a zakat deduction of nearly 1 million ringgit in 2021 – which ranked him as one of the biggest zakat donors in the state of Selangor that year.

Aliff, 34, said that when he first started his business 15 years ago, he could only contribute zakat worth RM7 per month.

Now, the entrepreneur is able to pay more from the revenue from the three types of businesses he runs, and even received praise from netizens at the time for his philanthropy and generosity.
