If Malaysia had its own XXL Freshman Class, ‘Gwalos’ would have cemented Airliftz as the rising star of local hip hop in 2017. New single ‘YAGK’ only makes an even stronger case for that. Opting to utilise Krayziesoundz’s azqbts on production duties this time around (as opposed to his penchant for self-produced tracks), ‘YAGK’ – the acronym form of ‘Ya Ain’t Gotta Know’ – with its trappy hi-hats, chipmunked soul vocal sample, and Airliftz’s bitter delivery, is one hell of a doozy post-heartbreak banger.
