Fondest memory of JUICE
The first WARDROBE and STYLE ICON section I was placed in charge of as an intern in 2008. Think shopping on a limitless budget for any and everything Jenny Lewis would wear—thanks, Muna!

Also, me, each time I was included in the e-mail loop for the glory panel: high-fiving a million angels.

Expectations & reality
Expectations: coffee runs and setting up camp by the copier. Reality: meeting, learning from and working alongside an amazing team that actually cared about what I had to contribute. Interning at JUICE, and later writing for HANGER (thanks, Sueann!) cemented within me the fact that why yes, I do in fact picture myself growing old writing about clothing. Definitely aiming high.

Post JUICE
Currently studying Fashion Marketing at Parsons, while freelancing for Catcha and a couple of other publications.

What I took from my experience at JUICE to this day
There’s little, if any, glamour in fashion journalism, which is just about the extent of which I can take. Also, deadlines.

Fondest memory of JUICE
Listening to beats whilst bashing our keyboards across Mira Mira, Kev, Swarley, and Ben! Also, smoking endless cigarettes with them every hour on the hour. And free drinks at events. Being able to document dubstep at its infancy in Malaysia (Bud Culture represent!).

Expectations & reality
Expectation: Getting to be an overworked, underpaid intern who would get to enjoy lots of free media perks.

Reality: Got to be an overworked, underpaid intern who enjoyed lots of free media perks (including a free sneaker tattoo), made lots of connections, expanded my writing skills and interviewed a tonne of interesting and famous people.

Post JUICE
Currently working at a sneaker store Hype DC in Melbourne, and plan to start my own female streetwear online store next year (watch this space!).

What you took from your experience at JUICE to this day
Under JUICE’s helm, I managed to tick off one of my life goals – to work for Sneaker Freaker Boogazine, where I interned for roughly half a year. Looking back, my JUICE stint was one of the most rewarding and fun positions I’ve had – thanks y’all!

Fondest memory of juice
One of my first assignments with JUICE was to cover LMFAO in Sunway, it was definitely one of the more memorable ones because I get to go backstage for the interviews and being right in front of the stage feels surreal for the first time, and needless to say, every shoot with JUICE = Serious FUN!

Expectations & Reality
I’ve always heard about the magazine when I was younger and my impression at that time was all about JUICE being the cool and hip local magazine with nice pics (I don’t like reading!). In reality, the JUICE team is as crazy as it gets! (Not in a bad way!) As I grew older/more matured I started reading the magazine and slowly I was hooked to reading the entire mag, which shows how much awesomeness is in this magazine.

Post JUICE
Developing myself as a photographer/filmmaker and constantly reminding myself to never stop learning. Currently in love with my work and at the same time trying to start my own business. I do enjoy the occasional lazing around at home!

What you took from your experience at JUICE to this day
I’ve learnt that we should not limit ourselves when it comes to creating and the experience that I had was to keep moving forward and think outside the boundaries. And also to look into the local culture and appreciate the vast talents that are growing in our country.
