Steel Vortex Returns With A Heavier Lineup And Battle Jacket Showdown

Organised by Goatlordth Records, STEEL VORTEX THRASH FEST VOL. 2 brings together 11 acts from Malaysia and Indonesia, spanning thrash metal, death metal, black metal, crossover, speed metal, and hardcore punk.

Representing Indonesia are Nattmaran, known for black/thrash metal, and Demon Sacrifice, who blend black metal with punk. The Malaysian lineup features 302, Militant Attack, Bömbshell, Langgar Lari, Oxidicide, Secret Agenda, Swindle, Argonist, and Puakerysm, bringing a mix of aggressive sounds to the stage.

Aizat Rosebi of Goatlordth Records said the festival’s return comes with a bigger lineup showcasing some of Southeast Asia’s best thrash and crossover acts, with plans to make this year’s mosh pit even bigger.

Beyond the live performances, the festival will also bring back the BATTLE JACKET SHOWDOWN, a segment introduced at last year’s edition in collaboration with Dissecting the Euphony.

Part fashion showcase and part documentation of underground metal culture, the segment invites attendees to turn up in their best battle jackets or vests for a chance to win prizes from sponsors Rock At Large Distro, Let’s Coopi Roaster, and w/sub Zine.

Whether you’re a seasoned headbanger or looking to discover your next favourite underground band, the festival offers a chance to connect with like-minded fans over a shared love of loud, aggressive music.

“Come in your best battle jacket or vest. Barulah Thrash!” said Aizat.

STEEL VORTEX THRASH FEST VOL. 2 takes place on 31 October 2026 at Petai Belalang, Kuala Lumpur, from 2:00 p.m. onwards. Tickets are available now. Visit the Instagram page to learn more.
