For many Malaysians, MAGGI® is tied to simple moments: a late-night meal shared with housemates, a family recipe passed down through generations, or a comforting bowl of noodles on a rainy afternoon.

Those familiar experiences were brought to life at Karnival Saya & MAGGI®, a four-day celebration held at Raintree Plaza, The Exchange TRX from 17 to 20 September. The event was part of the wider Me & MAGGI® So Good Together campaign, which celebrates the everyday stories and connections Malaysians have built around food.

The campaign began with a hero film featuring real-life Malaysian experiences and encouraged the public to share their own stories through #SayaDanMAGGI. The carnival took that idea offline, giving visitors a chance to enjoy food, music, and community experiences while creating new memories of their own.

The celebration also got an early start on 16 September, when the venue became the surprise final stop for Keretapi Sarong.

Over the following four days, the carnival brought together families, food entrepreneurs, local growers, and community partners, alongside familiar Malaysian personalities including Chef Naem Ramli, Ain Edruce, Kamal Adli, Aedy Ashraf, Nabila Razali, Fiza Sabjahan, and Emily Lim.

Music was another major part of the festivities, with performances by DOLLA and Ruffedge, followed by Datuk Ziana Zain and Misha Omar, who closed the carnival with their performances.

Ivy Tan Link Cheh, Business Executive Officer of MAGGI® Malaysia and Singapore, said the event was intended to celebrate the different ways Malaysians have made MAGGI® part of their lives.

“Every Malaysian has their own way of enjoying MAGGI®, and often a story that goes with it,” she said. “Through Karnival Saya & MAGGI®, we wanted to bring those stories together and celebrate the people behind them, from families sharing a favourite meal to growers and entrepreneurs contributing to our local food communities.”

A taste of Malaysia in one place

Food was naturally at the heart of the carnival, with local food entrepreneurs serving up dishes made using MAGGI® products at the Rasa-Rasa MAGGI® food village.

The food offerings were divided into four themes. Pilihan Kegemaran Bersama MAGGI® featured familiar favourites given a personal twist by each vendor, while Kreasi Eksklusif Bersama MAGGI® introduced more contemporary creations developed specifically for the event.

Visitors could also explore Malaysia’s diverse regional flavours through Cita Rasa Negeri Bersama MAGGI®, which highlighted dishes inspired by different states across the country.

The carnival also put the spotlight on women entrepreneurs through Program MAGGI® Wanita Cukup Berani. Among those taking part was Ida Faizura Binti Megat Muhaiyadin, better known as Jua of Jua’s Cook and Bake, who was the first runner-up of MAGGI® Wanita Cukup Berani Season 3.

The programme’s support extends beyond the event itself. Through Kenali Potensi Diri: Program MAGGI® Wanita Cukup Berani, women can register for free online training covering areas such as confidence building, digitalisation, nutrition, and entrepreneurship.

From farms to family kitchens

Several interactive experiences at the carnival also looked at the people and ingredients behind Malaysian food.

At Kari Kegemaran Malaysia, visitors could test their senses while learning about the 12 spices commonly associated with one of the country’s favourite dishes. Dari Ladang ke Hidangan Keluarga focused on locally grown ingredients and introduced visitors to the farmers and communities involved in producing them.

Meanwhile, Dapur MAGGI® Saya offered practical ideas for preparing tasty and balanced meals at home. Visitors could also share their own MAGGI® stories using #SayaDanMAGGI and redeem exclusive merchandise.
