MEDICOM TOY & Rinaro Team Up Again for Latest BE@RBRICK ‘Iridescent’ Collection

If you’re not familiar with BE@RBRICK, it’s a collectible designer toy made by Tokyo-based company MEDICOM TOY.

You’ve probably seen a BE@RBRICK piece or two standing in a shelf in someone’s home. They come in a range of sizes, ranging from 100% (7cm tall) all the way to 400% (28cm tall). Despite being coveted pieces of art to some, many see them as expensive paperweights with arms, legs, and ears.

Assuming you’re the latter, perhaps MEDICOM TOY’s latest creation with award-winning audio company Rinaro Isodynamics — the BE@RBRICK AUDIO portable bluetooth speaker — might entice you to get a cute little bear for yourself.

Three new colourways inspired by natural light phenomena

MEDICOM TOY and Rinaro have just dropped their new Iridescent Collection, featuring the beloved BE@RBRICK in three mesmerising colourways: Pearl Mirage, Crystal Halo, and Black Aurora. While they all have different colours, they magically give off a similar iridescent glow in certain angles and lighting conditions.

But of course, they’re not your usual BE@RBRICK pieces, since they also contain a whole host of internal components that give life to their portable speaker function.

Coming in the 400% size, the BE@RBRICK portable bluetooth speaker packs two front-firing tweeters in its ears and two rear-firing full range drivers in its head, promising an impressive output from all angles. This translates to natural and clean-sounding audio, wherever you decide to place it.

Twisting its left arm will adjust the volume, while doing the same with the right arm skips a track. The power/bluetooth button is on its waist in the back. As far as physical controls go, that’s about it!

For the Iridescent Collection, the focus is on the colour-shifting surface finishes on each model.

The iridescent optical effect creates a dynamic display of colours, shifting and changing with every movement and angle of light. It’s all possible thanks to a unique, randomised finishing process, ensuring that each BE@RBRICK AUDIO speaker has its own subtle colour variations and shading.

With up to six hours of uninterrupted playtime on a single charge, it’s perfect for pool parties, late-night study sessions, or just hanging out. In case you do need to charge it, it only takes 1.5 hours with the included USB-C cable. Plus, the battery is replaceable, making the speaker future-proof.
