10 Must-Watch Shows and Movies Coming to Netflix This December
We are now in the tail-end of 2023 and needless to say, Netflix has got you covered with December featuring some of the platform’s best. From compelling dramas to lighthearted family-friendly shows, here’s JUICE’s must-watch list for December on Netflix.
Maestro
Premiering on 20 December, this towering and fearless love story chronicles the lifelong relationship between Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein. A love letter to life and art, Maestro is at its core an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love.
Gyeongseong Creature: Season 1 Part 1
Set in one of Seoul’s grimmest eras under colonial rule, an entrepreneur and a sleuth fight for survival and face a monster born out of human greed. Starring Park Seo-Joon and Han So-Hee, Part 1 of this series will be premiering on 22 December.
Rebel Moon
Zack Snyder’s latest epic saga, Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire stars Sofia Boutella as she takes on the role of gathering warriors from neighbouring planets to make a stand against the invading force in a peaceful colony. This space epic will be released on 22 December.
Berlin
Set before the events of Money Heist, Berlin and a masterful gang gather in Paris to plan one of his most ambitious robberies ever. Fans of this master thief will be delighted to see how he got his start, with the series premiering on December 29.
The Archies
JUICE recently covered this upcoming musical, which is an Indian twist on the Archie comics, with Archie, Betty, Veronica, and the gang reimagined in a 1960s Indian colonial era Riverdale. The Archies will have you dancing on your feet as it premieres on 7 December.
Leave the World Behind
Starring an all-star cast of Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, and Kevin Bacon, this thriller sees a family’s getaway taking an ominous turn when a cyberattack knocks out their devices and two strangers appear at their door. Premieres on Netflix this 8 December.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
It may have taken 23 years, but Aardman’s anticipated stop-motion sequel will finally be premiering on 15 December. Set after the chickens escaped Tweedy’s Farm in the first film, their newfound freedom will be coming under a new mysterious threat.
Pokémon Concierge
Pocket monsters as you have never seen before, as just like our previous entry, Pokémon Concierge is a stop-motion affair as well. See how a tropical and peaceful resort gets flipped over its head by fan-favourite Pokémon when it premiers on 28 December.
Malbatt: Misi Bakara
Following the 19th Battalion Malay Regiment in 1993 as they are deployed on a mission to rescue the trapped American soldiers during Black Hawk Down. Those who missed out on the Malaysian theatrical release can finally catch Malbatt: Misi Bakara on Netflix this 24 December.
Yu Yu Hakusho
Hot on the heels of Netflix’s One Piece, this live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho aims to bring the iconic ’90s manga to life. The latest trailer shows off the main characters, Yusuke, Kurama, Hiei, and Kuwabara, and we’re sure to see more when it arrives on 14 December.
