The live action adaption of One Piece, the manga-anime sensation, has became a world hit on Netflix. This series released on 31st August 2023, recently became the #1 title globally on Netflix with 37.8 million views. With an exceptional cast, thrilling adventures, and a gripping storyline, the series has garnered praise for being a worthy adaption to the original. One Piece has not only entered the Top 10 in 93 countries but has also debuted at the coveted #1 spot in 46 of them, including our nation.

Netflix Has Decided To Renew The Show

Now the production team is gearing up for a thrilling sequel. YES! Season Two is confirmed and coming soon.

One Piece creator and illustrator Eiichiro Oda and Netflix confirmed the news through a video on their social media accounts. In a video, Oda said through a transponder snail, “It seems people around the world have been enjoying the show, which makes the hard work from the production team truly worth it.

Oda stated, “It seems to me the Straw Hats will need a great doctor,” as he drew a picture of Tony Tony Chopper, the endearing reindeer-human hybrid who plays an important role in One Piece, indicating that Chopper’s character can be expected in Season 2.

Known as Japan’s best-selling manga of all time with over 500 million copies sold to date, One Piece was serialised in 1997, earning its author Eiichiro Oda a Guinness World Record. It was originally published a year earlier as two, one-off stories.

Netflix’s live action series follows Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, an adventurous young man with a dream of becoming the Pirate King, as he embarks on thrilling high-sea adventures. He forms a diverse crew, including Mackenyu Arata as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd a s Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji, to search for the legendary One Piece treasure left behind by infamous pirate Gold Roger.
