The Return of Mahsuri’s Seventh Generation Descendant in Langkawi Surprises Locals
Do you remember hearing about the legend of Mahsuri who was stabbed for a false accusation of infidelity?
After her stabbing, she was said to bleed out white blood that proved her innocence and had told the people of Langkawi that their land would be cursed by bad luck for 7 generations.
Recently, the Langkawi arrival of Mahsuri’s seventh-generation descendant, Wan Aishah Wan Nawawi, who is now 37 years old, and her son, who is an eighth-generation descendant, has created a great deal of excitement on the island.
Aishah was born in 1986 and has been living in Phuket, Thailand since she was a little child.
When the island of Langkawi was granted duty-free status, it is thought that she broke the curse that had been placed on Mahsuri’s descendants, who were of the seventh generation.
Since yesterday, users of various social media sites, as well as tourist centres, have uploaded photographs and videos of Aishah’s family on their profiles.
Mior Johan, 32, who owns a restaurant in Pantai Chenang, published a 23-second video to his TikTok account during the family’s visit to the restaurant. The video was posted while the family was there.

According to Mior, last Thursday, Aishah, better known by her Thai name Sirintra Yayee or Nong May, was on the island with her husband, Alee Tongyon, 39, and their son for a short vacation trip.
“My in-laws know Aishah’s family in Phuket, Thailand. Aishah and her husband have come to Langkawi many times before.
“This time around, it is quite special as she came with her husband and six-year-old son Mateen,” said Mior.
According to Mior, Aishah and her family travelled to a number of tourist attractions while they were in Langkawi, in addition to visiting his restaurant. Some of these attractions were Underwater World Langkawi, Makam Mahsuri, and a sunset cruise.
