Selangor Employers Can Now Purchase Vaccine for Staff Through SELangkah App
The Selangor government has initiated a facility to sell Covid-19 vaccines to employers in the state who plan to immunise their workers in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
According to The Star, exco member in charge of public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said interested employers can register to buy the vaccines through the state’s SELangkah application.
“SELangkah has opened registration to companies that are interested to get the vaccines for their workers,” said Dr Siti Mariah.
Further details are available on the Selangkah website and app.
The Seri Serdang rep also stressed that all official statements on vaccine policies can be issued only by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari or herself. This statement was to clear the air over rumours on social media that claimed 500,000 Sinovac vaccine doses are to be made available to residents in the state.
Back in February, Dr Siti mentioned that high-risk workers in the state would be among those to be prioritised for inoculation, with the doses bought by their employers.
This is because this group, which includes foreign workers, is among the parties that have contributed to the rise in Covid-19 cases at the workplace. For now, the Selangor government has allocated some RM100mil to help expedite the National Immunisation Programme.
