Manjung Municipal Council Trains 2 Stray Doggos To Protect Park From Monkeys & Dangerous Animals
While some people run away from strays, these two have been taken in trained by the Manjung Municipal Council to guard a mangrove park, Utusan Online reported.
The two hired guard dogs, named Johnny and Puppy are tasked with protecting visitors by chasing off monkeys and other animals that roam at the Seri Manjung Mangrove Park.
Council president Syamsul Hazeman Md Salleh said the dogs are licensed under the council and have been trained to look after the part, as well as protect visitors from being disturbed by wild and dangerous animals.
“Before this, wild monkeys in large numbers have stolen visitors’ food and handbags. After this, it will not happen again as Johnny and Puppy will protect visitors and chase away the wild monkeys and venomous animals like snakes,” he said.
The park’s security guard, Khairol Nizam Mohd Zaki, 37, said Puppy first appeared in the area around April before staying there since October while Johnny came in around December. He said it took about a week to trained them.
Khairol said the dogs have not disturbed visitors and understand their task is to protect them from monkeys and other animals.
