LISTEN: Jay Z x Smashing Pumpkins Mash-Up Album is Something You Didn’t Ask For But Need!

There’s a new Jay-Z and Smashing Pumpkins mashup doing the ’rounds and it’s pretty damn great. There’s just something about hearing the rapper rhyme over the band’s riffs that reminded us that rap-rock, when done right, can still be hugely exhilarating!

According to Kerrang!, American producer-rapper, Spose took songs from Jay-Z’s The Black Album and mashed them up with a career-spanning selection of Smashing Pumpkin’s to make a killer collaboration. Clocking at just under one hour – this is an epic album.

After tweeting the release, Spose labelled Smashing Pumpkins as “my favourite band”, before admitting “I’m not sure how long this will exist before it gets taken down”.

The album, dubbed Marcy Projects And The Infinite Sadness, takes its name from the Pumpkins’ 1995 epic double LP, Melon Collie And The Infinite Sadness.

I’m not sure how long this will exist before it gets taken down but I re-produced the entire “Black Album” by my favorite rapper Jay-Z using only music by my favorite band The Smashing Pumpkins, enjoy!!!
