WATCH: This New Negeri Sembilan Hiking Spot Has a Heavenly View of a ‘Carpet of Clouds’
There are many hiking trails in Malaysia and if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’ve probably gone to most of them. While it’s easy to just head to your go-to hiking trek, it’s always fun to explore new trails like this up-and-coming spot known as Bukit Besar or ‘Bosar’.
Located in Negeri Sembilan – specifically at Kampung Bayai Baru, Jempol – this new trail leads you to a stunning cloudscape view – one which will leave you feeling like you’re floating on clouds! Take a look:
The leader of the Bayai Hikers group who discovered the new trek, Muhammad Amin Zakaria told Harian Metro that the route to the top of the hill is as high as 387 meters above sea level. He also mentioned that the trail is perfect for beginners as it’s easy, safe and hikers can reach the peak in less than an hour.
Amin admitted that Bukit Bosar’s existence has long been known by villagers nearby, but stated that he only started to explore the hill two years ago with his friends.
The Bayai Hikers group now offers tours to visitors to the hill.
“Many people did not notice that this location is a suitable hill for hikers. Besides getting to see the ‘carpet of clouds’, visitors will also be taken to a ‘historical’ location where a large human footprint was found, with various mysterious folklore attached to it. To get the most of this hill, start climbing as early as three in the morning and you’ll get to see the exciting view,” Amin said.
He urged visitors to wear appropriate clothes as the trail can be slippery when it rains and welcomed more hikers as his group is ready to guide them to the top.
“We do not charge any fixed fees but welcome any sincere donations put into the ‘Bayai Hikers Group’ fund for the development of this new tourist location for hill climbing activities,” Amin said.
Although Malaysia is still under RMCO, perhaps going on a hike will make you feel like it’s pre-pandemic times again. Of course, you still need to be aware of certain SOPs for the sake of everyone’s health, but there’s nothing wrong with enjoying nature and taking time to reflect, recharge and reconnect.
Let’s get our heads stuck in the clouds this weekend! Jom hiking!
