2,234 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported Today, Highest Ever Since Pandemic Began in M’sia

Despite the number of active cases dipping recently, today marks the highest peak in new cases reported ever since the pandemic began in Malaysia.

According to the Health Ministry’s latest tweet, there are 2,234 new cases reported today (10 Dec), and 1,112 recovered cases.

Selangor recorded the highest number of new cases (1,428), followed by Sabah (274), Kuala Lumpur (136) and Perak (115).

The tweet also mentioned that there are 5 new clusters, while 3 clusters have ended and 3 deaths were also reported.

Although the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) was lifted recently as with the interstate travel ban, the government is still cautious of the spread of the virus. Recently, DG Noor Hisham stated that the CMCO might have to be re-implemented if the number of new cases continues to rise.
