A Perodua Myvi was in flames after an accident with a Proton X70 at Jalan Saujana Impian. It was the first accident that happened at the same location where a couple was killed in another accident later that day.

Selangor Fire and Rescue department director Norazam Khamis said they received an emergency call about the car-fire incident at 8:33 am on Sunday (7 March), reported Harian Metro.

“Five personnel and a fire truck from the Kajang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the location. Upon arrival, we found a Perodua Myvi on fire in the accident.”

He said it is believed that the Perodua Myvi was on fire due to a collision with the Proton X70. It took the fire and rescue team a few minutes to put out the fire.

“The two drivers involved, aged 30 and 25 respectively, managed to get out from their vehicles before the fire brigade arrived at the location. No victims were reported injured in the accident,” he said.

At 3:59 pm on the same day, Norazam said they received a call about an accident where a married couple died, while their children, aged 7 and 14, were injured after their car collided head-on with a van at the same location.

In a statement, he said six personnel were rushed to the location where the team discovered the accident between a car and a van. He said the couple and their children were found in the car. The van driver, however, did not sustain any injury.

“The husband and wife died at the scene and their bodies were sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem. The two children, who suffered injuries, were sent to Hospital Kajang for treatment,” he said.

Kajang District Police Chief Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said that initial investigation found the accident was due to negligence caused by the 28-year-old van driver who drove the vehicle from Semenyih to Kuala Lumpur and lost control.

He said the van then hit the road divider and entered the opposite lane before colliding with the Perodua Bezza the family was in.
