13 Shops In Serdang Set Ablaze After Fire From Gold Shop Spreads Out of Control
Earlier this morning (31 Oct) around 4.15am, a row of shop-lots at Jalan Pasar, Pekan Baru Serdang were reduced to ash after a fire that started in a gold shop gradually spread to neighbouring shops.
Reports indicate that most of the shops which caught on fire were partially wooden, making it easier for the flames to spread.
Thankfully, The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) were able to put the flames out sometime around 5:30am.
Despite the devastating property damage, we are happy to report that zero casualties were involved in this horrific incident.
Director of JBPM Selangor, Norazam Khamis stated that the fire department received an emergency call regarding the incident sometime around 4.15am.
“About 24 firemen, equipped with 8 firetrucks provided by JBPM Serdang, BBP Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, BBP Bangi and BBP Seksyen 7 rushed to the scene immediately”.
“Once we arrived, we were able to trace that the fire started in a gold shop which spread out to 12 other premises along the row of shophouses.
JUICE would like to thank all the brave firemen involved in containing the fire as fast as they did in addition to their swift arrival.
To those affected by the fire, please stay strong but ultimately, we are happy that nobody got hurt.
