Every respectable ad man and ad woman knows of the Kancil Awards, but this year, something else is happening to complement the annual advertising awards competition…

The inaugural Kancil Creative Festival organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Malaysia (4A’s), presents to you a two-day immersion with some of the most brilliant and innovative minds of today who come from different creative backgrounds.

Held at Ruang by ThinkCity KL, the Kancil Creative Festival (KCF, not KFC) promises to be a gathering of the most innovative minds, jam-packed with exhibitions, mini-workshops, dialogue sessions, immersive experiences and a line-up of 16 stellar speakers from a variety of disciplines.

Festival-goers can expect to find speakers from different creative backgrounds–like Eddin Khoo, founder of Pusaka; Tintoy Chuo, founder of Fusion Wayang Kulit (FWK); Hyrul Anuar, artist, culture storyweaver and art director; Ronald Ng, Global Chief Creative Officer of Digitas; and Kafayat Quadri, singer-songwriter, poetographer and spoken word artist–sharing their stories.

Themed, “Celebrating humanity in creativity, technology and culture”, Alvin Teoh, Kancil Creative Festival’s Creative Council Chairman, says that the festival “aims to bring together people that are so seemingly different to discover their commonality so as to celebrate these differences that ironically makes us one.”

The festival is not only looking to enrich our lives through creative work, but as Teoh adds “it is designed to be inclusive so that the public at large are able to appreciate the type of work that taps into the beauty of the human experience, and hopefully inspires new compelling ideas in their lives.”

Festival tickets are priced at RM2,600 for the public, and RM2,200 for 4A’s Members, with a 10% group discount applicable for groups of 5 pax or more. Tickets purchased are HRDF claimable.

Festival-goers will also have access to the prestigious Kancil Awards Night, Malaysia’s oldest awards competition for advertising agencies. Held at the iconic Chin Woo Stadium on 27 July, attendees can witness first-hand and celebrate the compelling works from the most creative minds in the industry.
