New Years Eve – the night of champagne, sparkles and midnight makeouts. They say that how you bring in the new year is how you spend the rest of the year, so uh, no pressure right? With a barrage of parties, it may be hard to make the right decision. Let JUICE guide you to a blissful new years and a glorious hangover! We’ve rounded up and weighed in on this weekend’s festivities below.
What: Are You Ready For 2011
Where: Euphoria MOS
Tune supplier: Surprise guests LMFAO!!!
Why you should go: Known for some of the most massive parties of 2010, Euphoria wants to make it bigger and better in 2011, starting with NYE by bringing in LMFAO to get your party started.
Skip it if: You’re not ready for 2011.
What: New Years Eve Drum and Bass
Where: Poppy Garden
Tune supplier: DJ’s from Russia, Singapore and KL are aptly spinning dnb for bassheads!
Why you should go: Drum and bass lovers, this is for you. You should also head over to P.Ramlee if you’re tired of electro, rnb and want to hear something new.
Skip it if: Drum and bass isn’t your cup of tea.
What: Two Zero Eleven
Where: @Space
Tune supplier: DJ Biggie and MC Syze bringing you rnb, electro, and other club anthems.
Why you should go: If other clubs can’t handle you now, newly revamped @Space can.
Skip it if: You’re not ready for 2011.
What: Juice pres. Countdown to 2011
Where: Mansion
Tune supplier: DJ Point and MC Vibe with the best rnb and hiphop
Why you should go: You love the big room sounds of Maison and ready to get your groove on.
Skip it if: You find counting hard, especially backwards.
What: NYE with DJ Keza
Where: Sky Bar
Tune supplier: In case you missed it, it’s DJ Keza, fresh off his big win as Beijing’s cityweekend dj!
Why you should go: You want to ring in the new year with one of the best views the city has to offer.
Skip it if: With the classy setting of Sky Bar and the luxury tunes of DJ Keza, if you’re more of hoodrat, this may not be the place for you, but don’t worry, Kanye is still addicted to you!
What: 2011: A Space Odyssey New Years Celebration
Where: Mist and Milk
Tune supplier:Jedi Voize, Darth Funkzu, DJ Monkey-Wookie, HAL-Terry-Thousand along with Captain Kirk-A and Ray-Spock with space tunes!
Why you should go: Dress in futuristic gear and you get a reduced cover charge. Mist was JUICE‘s club of 2010, so expect a great party! Who doesn’t love space parties?
Skip it if: I’ve called ahead and am pretty sure Bowie is not making an appearance, so if that was your draw, maybe skip this one.
What: Hed Kandi pres DJ Des Paul and Chris B
Where: Sultan Lounge
Tune supplier: DJ Des Paul and Chris B will be hitting the decks like Chris Brown hits… ok I won’t go there, but you get the point.
Why you should go: DJ Des Paul and Chris B will be bringing you the finest house from the UK, all perfectly orchestrated by Oscar Wise, this is guaranteed to be a great time!
Skip it if: If the RM120 cover is a bit too steep for you.
What: Chivalrous Movement
Where: Genting International Showroom
Tune suppliers: Judge Jules, Act Yo Age, DJ Xu and Guru Guru
Why you should go: Check our interview with Judge Jules to find all about the UK DJ. Aussie’s Act Yo Age are sure to bring the banging tunes to keep the legend of Genting raves alive. Not saying that this is a rave though… ifyaknowwhatImean?
Skip it if: You don’t like to have fun, cause we’re pretty sure this is going to be massive!
What: 2011 Countdown Party
Where: Luna Bar
Tune suppliers: DJ Ian Ross
Why you should go: The night starts off with a buffet dinner and then leads into the late night entertainment. It’s your one stop for NYE’s entertainment, perfectly situated atop the city.
Skip it if: You’re more of a liquid dinner kind of person.
What: Countdown New Year Party
Where: Laundry Bar
Tune suppliers: DJs Jony, We Are Mutants, Herb and Jane Geri
Why you should go: Offering two stages and a mix of different tunes, there’s something for everyone at Laundry this NYE. With the music ranging from electro, dubstep, rnb and nu rave, you’re sure to be entertained.
Skip it if: You’re idea of ‘doing laundry’ involves a washing machine.
What: I love NYE
Where: Zouk
Tune Suppliers: The usual suspects here, Global in the mainroom, TAG up in Sonic, Phuture with DJ Luqe, Radzi & MC Fendi, or Velvet and Aristo with Ken, Point Blanc and Shazz, why mess with perfection.
Why you should go: As proven week in and week out, Zouk is always guaranteed to bring a slamming party.
Skip it if: You don’t love NYE, well then you probably should stay home for any of the above parties and wallow in your self loathing.
