Your Favourite Villainous OTP ‘Harley Quinn and the Joker’ Are Getting Their Own Film

Harley Quinn x Joker OTP fans rejoice – Margot Robbie and Jared Leto will be reprising their roles as DC Comics’ most villainous couple to bring you what sources are describing as “… an insane and twisted love story. When Harry Met Sally on benzedrine“. While their romance isn’t exactly known for its smooth sailing, the allure of the Harley Quinn-Joker pairing was definitely enough to convince DC Films and Warner Bros. to grant the couple’s backstory its own movie.

At the helm of production are directors and executive producers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the masterminds behind hit NBC drama This is Us and the 2011 film Crazy Stupid Love. Insiders say that the plan is to release the yet to be named Harley Quinn-Joker feature after Suicide Squad‘s sequel hits theatres. The latter is currently on a fast-track developmental stage and seeking someone to fill in the director’s seat, but the Joker-Harley Quinn movie isn’t resting on its laurels either; Warner Bros are already working on signing off the actor’s and actress’ holding agreements, so it won’t be too long until Harley’s reunited with her Puddin’ onscreen once more.

The news comes hot on the heels of the buzz surrounding Todd Philips and Martin Scorsese’s collaboration on an origin film surrounding the Batman’s archenemy. The Joker origin tale will be set in a separate universe of Batman-related flicks, so expect more screen-time featuring your favourite DC superheroes and villains in the near future.
