What Went Down: Veuve Clicquot’s Yelloween @ The Pool
Eye-patched and moustached men. Jack Sparrow. Women in frocks with thigh high slits. Champagne. Wait, what? Well, yes. This year, pirates came with class, as “Pirates” was the theme of this spooky Halloween night, as Veuve Clicquot celebrated their annual Yelloween bash at The Pool.
As night descended, emcee of the night, Will Quah paved the night by proclaiming the main bounty of the treasure hunt: 500 coins were to be hunted for in the premises of The Pool, whereby each coin bestowed the finder a 1% discount off their purchase of any bottles of Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label during the night. To entice the crowd, Veuve Clicquot mandated: the more coins found, the higher the discount the seeker would obtain on their prize. With the hunt in full swing, pirate-themed trivia questions, which granted the champion with funky Veuve Clicquot merchandise commenced on the sidelines.
Whilst pirates and maidens of the darkness hunted for the prized coins, DJs Nasty and Guru Guru spun up the room with electro-infused numbers, framing the party ambience. Veuve Clicquot champagnes submerged themselves in the VC Comet, Veuve Clicquot’s personalized ice buckets, whereas ordered bottles of 75cl Veuve Clicquot’s sauntered over to the tables, winking at patrons with VC Neon Clicquots eye-catching LED lights.
Renowned guests who hit The Pool with the pirates were Bella host Elaine Daily, actor Melvin Sia, musician and composer Yuri Wong, Kakiseni curator Low Ngai Yuen, while tarot card readers charmed the guests like snakes (or maybe parrots since the theme was pirates) with a read into their future.
Halfway throughout the event, the crowd enjoyed the view of two men jumping into the pool – to retrieve two keys, a recreation of the diving for Davy Jones’ locket. Roen Cian of The Pool and Karen Ong, Marketing Director of Moet Hennessy Malaysia unlatched treasure chests with the two keys, unveiling the winners of the Lucky Draw, endowing them with RM1500 worth of The Pool dining vouchers. Best Dressed Male and Female were presented as well, followed by Nasty and Guru Guru leading the crowd back to the celebration of champagne with a blazed trail of electro music.
