On 19 May 2012, KL Live played host to the fifteen year strong ‘The Gallery’ by the London based Ministry of Sound. The night was a spectacular affair with 2000 strong crowd of trance enthusiasts attending to get their fix of throbbing bass and melodic highs, and the lighting arsenal served its purpose of dropping jaws all over the venue.

Opened by a set from our very own DJ Leey Houdini who hails from Johor, he was nervous in the beginning, but managed to hold his ground and convinced the audience with his progressive house and progressive style. This was his very first appearance spinning outside the clubs and at an international event.

Next up was DJ Ramsey Westwood. A Penang boy, he won the second instalment of the Astro Hitz Spinmaster and did his title proud with his combination of progressive house, trance and progressive grooves during his set. He even included Tiesto’s ‘Love Comes Again’ and Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ ‘Otherside’, giving the crowd a chance to participate by dancing and singing along.

Danish Daniel Kandi of Anjunabeats fame took over the decks after DJ Ramsey and spun his classic trance styles, marking his Malaysian debut. Ensuing Kandi, UK based classical turned EDM singer Jwaydan took the stage and blew the crowd away with her strong set of windpipes singing to progressive and trance tracks.

Saving the best for last, DJ Bobina hit the decks as a finale. Famous for being able to spin any EDM genre in the market, he did nothing less than impress with progressive tunes, and his fans left the venue satisfied and buzzing with after-show excitement.
