What Went Down: The New Heineken Bottle Launch Feat. Ferry Corsten @ KL Live
When we heard that Heineken will be launching their new bottle soon, we knew that they will definitely bring a big name over but when we finally heard that they were bringing Ferry Corsten to play for the launch party… that’s just a recipe for an amazing night. We’re talking about the man who designed the Dutch trance sound that has touched every corner of the globe with his mesmerising songs. And of course, we’re talking about Heineken here so it’s no surprise that the party was filled with energy, green bottles and fireworks!
The night started off with local superstars DJ Nick Haydez, Tommy Cham and Lapsap moving the crowd with their tunes but when the time came for Ferry Corsten’s set, the dancefloor was packed and this was when the party took full effect. He was playing tracks from his new album that received a great response from the crowd, but the more familiar tracks like ‘Brute’, ‘Punk’ and ‘Check It Out’ just got everyone to believe that it was really a Ferry Corsten set and we were happy to catch him back here again. From the young to the older ones, we could see how Ferry Corsten has affected people musically from all walks of life after being in the industry for 20 years now.
Since it was a private party, he played more of an open format testing what best moves the crowd. We remembered somewhere early in his set, he dropped Porter Robinson’s ‘Language’ accompanied with fireworks which got such a huge roar from everyone!
This heavyweight champion of trance definitely left a memorable impression to all of us that attended. Every time we pick up Heineken now, it’ll take us back to the good times of that night.
