What Went Down: Catcha Euro Finals Screening Party with Carlsberg @ Sunway Giza

Movida at Sunway Giza was the place to be as over a thousand football fans gathered to catch Italy vs. Spain in the EURO Finals. Italy suffered an ego-bruising 4-0 defeat, but it was still an all-out party as friends and rivals alike celebrated with their ice-cold bottles of Carlsberg.

The venue was transformed into a stadium-themed party with grandstand seats, and the finals being projected on a giant screen. Fans started making their way to the party, strutting their stuff on the welcoming green carpet, as early as 10.00 pm to indulge in fun activities like PS3 video games and foosball challenges that were open to the public.

By midnight, anticipation for the match was already running high as stage activities had fans in a football frenzy. The events included entertaining performances by local band Bongga Bongga, an explosive showing by the Pirates cheerleading squad, a football juggling exhibition and a midnight eating competition that saw contestants walking away with a few extra pounds.

But here’s the part we actually enjoyed the most; we also did a big launch of THE GUIDE iPhone app at the party. In conjunction with the launch, users of the app were able to participate in a special contest on the night for a chance to win a Kiehl’s gift pack for men worth RM220. Other prizes given out were Carlsberg fan packs to 10 lucky draw winners worth RM500 each, and a Sony TV to the lucky punter who made the closest goal prediction.
