What Went Down: Avalon Club Lounge’s Grand Launch @ TREC, KL

If we were to summarise the launch of the newest entertainment outlet on the TREC strip in three words, it’d be: drinks, lots of people, and grand LED displays. Avalon Club Lounge hosted its introductory party on the eve of Halloween and regardless of its status as a new space that had hardly any physical advertising done before its launch, it managed to gather hundreds of people to its space. The endless supply of beer paired with music by DJ Angemi made our lack of personal space worthwhile and further explained the sea of people as it was well-deserved.

Drinks and attendance aren’t the only factors to make for a good host; Avalon took that into account and created a visual experience (this seems to be trend this year…) by playing around with LED lights and hypnotic patterns which essentially looked like images projected out of a kaleidoscope. After a few too many pints of beer, it did the trick and then some. Even more notable, the 3D stage is a permanent fixture in the new establishment, so expect all future shows to double as a massive trip.

When we needed to take a breather from the overwhelming number of people and for air that wasn’t a mixture of the best substances for the nuisance that are vape machines, we headed over to Meja Kitchen & Bar, which is conveniently located directly below the club and serves dishes that are part of the Asian fusion food-tree. Best part about it is that the operation hours start from 11am to 3am — great for people who love to eat after having too much to drink aka everyone. Food isn’t the only thing on the meja (with a name like that, you probably saw a terrible pun coming), it has an extensive drink menu as well — best, its alcohol servings are more generous in comparison to other outlets. Avalon is looking to host a few renowned international artistes in the coming months that will include anyone from Nervo to R3hab to DJ Tenashar, so keep track with its upcoming events here!
