WATCH: Netflix’s Anime ‘Trese’ is About The Adventures of a Keris-Wielding, Supernatural Detective
Netflix has released the trailer for its highly anticipated anime Trese, based on an award-winning, beloved Filipino comic book series created by Budjette Tan and KaJo Baldisimo, that is coming to the streaming platform this month.
Set in Manila, the series follows Alexandra Trese, a keris-wielding detective who deals with crimes of supernatural origin that are apparently abundant in the criminal underworld.
After local cops stumble on cases involving supernatural and mythical creatures from Filipino folklore, they call on the badass Alexandra Trese to take care of them.

The trailer gives a peek at the mysteries and horrors that fans can expect from the beautifully dark, black-and-white pages of the comic title.
Those who are newcomers might turn into fans during the first episode.
The English voice cast for the series includes Nicole Sherzinger (of the Pussycat Dolls), Shay Mitchell, and Darren Criss, and features directors and crew members who have previously worked on amazing animated series such as Young Justice and Star Wars Rebels.
In a statement, the streaming platform said that Trese is part of Netflix’s efforts to bring more original Asian stories to consumers.
