Pop by ISETAN for Washoku: Japanese Food for Festivities
If you missed out on Bon Odori at Publika, fret not cause ISETAN The Japan Store is here with Washoku: Japanese Food for Festivities presented by Dai Nippon Printing Co., Lt – an event that’s all about that Japanese life that’s begun since 27 October ’17 and will go on all the way up till 25 January ‘18. As the name suggests, it’s going to be a big party in the belly for the foodies out there who can come by to appreciate Japanese culture and food through the variety of activities that will be spread out throughout three months. After all, author Deborah Cater once said that “you have to taste a culture to understand it.”
“Japanese cuisine is not something new for Malaysians, who often go out to restaurants to enjoy Japanese delicacies and sake. The Washoku fair will allow visitors to discover a variety of culinary delicacies associated with Japan through live presentations and food tastings. The fair also demonstrates cultural aspects that we practise and is sure to interest Japanese cultural fans and the public,” said Ken Fukutake, General Manager of Media Content Planning Department, Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd.
In conjunction with the first anniversary of ISETAN The Japanese Store Kuala Lumpur, Washoku will include 45 sakes from 9 areas in Japan and to top that off, appetisers that make perfect pairing for sake like Karaage, Saba no misoni, and Kiriboshi daikon. There will also be stalls that feature merchandises related to Japanese culture as well as Ennichi plays for the kids.
