VIDEO: The Making of Damien Rice’s My Favourite Faded Fantasy (Exclusive)
The monochromatic video interview shows Damien Rice’s detailing the extended process of the making of his forthcoming third album My Favourite Faded Fantasy. However, it is also a beautiful formal reintroduction to the acclaimed folk singer whose media shy visage is exhibited in a series of magnified cuts. In the beginning of mini documentary, he speaks so delicately of “Rick”, it’s easy to mistaken his gushes for a lover. But in fact, it was for music industry messiah and the album’s producer — Rick Rubin. Other than the occasional moments of Rice’s breathless grace, he continues to lyrically describes the usually utilitarian process of recording an album, “It’s a little bit like going for a walk in the woods, without having a plan of where you’re going,” and with that said, he ends the one-sided interview as he boards his flight.
