Scottish video artist Saint-Laurent, better known as Saint-Laurent420 via social media, has a knack for creating visuals that fit the ’80s aesthetic. His projects in the past include a synth-wave jingle whose visual focus is on a Nissan Silvia, one dedicated to The Simpsons, and most recently, Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ ‘This Is What You Came For’. The first two videos barely do Saint-Laurent’s editing capabilities any justice, but the latter compensates for it as he took it a step further by remixing the song into a power ballad to complement the faux-VHS video. We equate the listening experience to having sex for the first time — it’s a little awkward at the beginning because you’re unsure of what’s happening (why did the piano introduction make us cringe?) but then you get the hang of it (the chorus sounds like something Bonnie Tyler is responsible for but it feels so good!), and it turns out not being as bad as you thought it would be.
