When Rihanna first performed ‘Bitch Better Have My Money (BBHMM)’ on the iHeartRadio Music Awards in that green, homage-to-Lil’ Kim ensemble and synchronised-danced with so much braggadocio, we are not ashamed to admit that we lost our shit. Also, let us all not forget her minimal but no less compelling video for ‘FourFiveSeconds‘ with ‘Ye and Sir Paul McCartney; Rihanna is entering the imperial phase of her career right now. So after dropping bits of teasers of the official video for ‘BBHMM’, here it is, in all of its cinematic glory. The 7-minute long video — naturally — delivers; it’s incredibly styled in every sense, there’s impeccable fashion, concept, camera work. It’s all attitude, but the video has humour in many instances as well, like for instance the cameo of perennial music video villain or character actor Eric Roberts. Why is he still relevant? Also, Rihanna got us all fooled thinking that the white socialite was the titular bitch. No guys, it’s goddamned Mads Mikkelsen aka Hannibal Lecter himself!
Watch it below while we catch our breath:
