VIDEO: Here Now, A Film by Gregg Araki for KENZO
Film director Gregg Araki has quite a cult following for his teen romps as he was significantly involved with the New Queer Cinema movement. Kenzo’s creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim — both of whom are fans of Araki — have commissioned him to create a short film for the house’s FW15 collection. It seems that the admiration is mutual as Araki told i-D, “I feel like if it wasn’t KENZO and there was some inappropriate house I don’t know if I would have done it; because the fact that the clothes fit the world of the Teen Apocalypse trilogy already, that made it make sense.” The clothes certainly complement the characters who use dialogue such as, “Puppy, there will be plenty of time snogging later.” and. “What the Gilbert is wrong with her?” It’s evident that the plot revolves around love, be it burgeoning from lust or heartbreak.
